unnamed March 17, 2021 TOP officials of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) met on Tuesday, March 17, 2021, to renew their commitment to work together and strengthen their communication line for faster resolution of the killings of judges, prosecutors and member of the legal profession.

MANILA – Officials of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) renewed their commitment to jointly addressing issues on police operations and the protection of legal professionals in the country.
In a joint statement on Wednesday, the PNP, represented by its officer-in-charge, Lt. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, and IBP president Domingo Egon Cayosa, have both expressed to work hand in hand to address the number of cases surrounding the deaths of judges, prosecutors, and member of the legal profession over the past several years.

+ February 02, 2021 THE Office of Cebu City Prosecutor upheld the recommendation of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) 7 to file murder charges against Ret. Col. Edwin Layese for his alleged participation as the mastermind and/or contractor of the shooting incident that killed lawyer Joey Luis Wee.
Lawyer Rennan Augustus Oliva, NBI 7 director, said they received a copy of the case information dated Jan. 29, 2021, on Monday afternoon, Feb. 1.
He said this is a very good development and said even the petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus filed by Layese s counsel was denied by the court. Writ of Habeas Corpus is used to bring a detainee before the court to determine if his detention is lawful.
