Air India women pilots operate world s longest route flight
New Delhi, Jan 11 (Prensa Latina) A team of Air India women pilots created history by flying the world s longest direct route flight over the North Pole, covering a distance of about 16,000 kilometers between San Francisco and Bengaluru.
It was an exciting experience since it was never done before. It took almost 17 hours to reach here, Shivani Manhas, one of the four women pilots who operated Air India s inaugural flight between those two destinations, told Asian News International.
The crew consisted of Captain Manhas, Captain Zoya Agarwal, Captain Papagari Thanmai and Captain Akanksha Sonawane. They were given a grand welcome shortly after landing at Kempegowda International Airport.

On Jan. 9, the minister had said in a tweet that Air India s woman power flies high around the world and it was a historic inaugural flight between the two cities.
Creating history, Air India s longest flight from San Francisco to Bengaluru with an all- woman crew landed in the city on Monday. As the flight (AI-176) landed at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru and the crew members walked to the airport lounge, there was a huge crowd of people to receive them with elation and joy for setting a new record of an all-woman crew flying the longest distance over the North Pole.
Air India had said earlier this will be the longest commercial flight in the world to be operated by it or any other airline in India.
