JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - Jonesboro fire crews responded to an apartment fire Monday afternoon.
The Jonesboro Fire Department responded to a call of flames seen from a home around 4:40 p.m. on the 300-block of North Bridge Street.
Battalion Chief Brett Winstead said the fire only affected one apartment.
It began in the kitchen but spread to the living room.
Winstead added that a woman told JFD she was cooking and fell asleep when the fire broke out.

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - A crash with âvery serious injuriesâ on Stadium Boulevard brought the Friday morning commute to a halt.
Jeff Presley, E911 director, reported the crash happened shortly before 7:30 a.m. in the 3700-block of South Stadium Boulevard near Harrisburg Road.

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - Officials want to know what sparked an early morning business fire.
Around 4:30 a.m. Friday, April 23, the Jonesboro Fire Department responded to a fire at Custom Detail by Michael, located in the 3100 block of Colony Drive.
Jonesboro police blocked traffic, while crews worked to douse the fire. City Water and Light workers were also called to the scene.
Within minutes the flames had been knocked down and crews were putting out hot spots.
Officials say the cause of the fire is unknown and the fire marshal has been called in to investigate.

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - A Jonesboro woman can thank a couple of quick-thinking neighbors for saving her from a house fire.
Around 5 p.m., a single-story home in the 200-block of Gilbert Street went up in flames. Smoke could be seen for miles. Jonesboro police confirmed fire crews and police officers have responded to a house fire Monday evening. (Source: KAIT)
Mike Lovell was outside when he saw the flames.
âWe were sitting in the backyard over there, and we heard rushing and there was a trailer, a small camper trailer, that looked like it was on fire,â he said.

JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - Jonesboro firefighters spent Wednesday afternoon battling a fire and the elements during a house fire on Daybreak Drive.
According to a post on the Jonesboro Fire Department Facebook page, firefighters worked through freezing temperatures and snow to put out the fire.
