Sturch, PIllow Named New Jonesboro Directors (Movers & Shakers)

Ronnie Sturch and Alan Pillow of the city of Jonesboro Ronnie Sturch and Alan Pillow have been selected as new directors by the city of Jonesboro. Sturch was selected by the 911 Intergovernmental Board to serve as E-911 director for Jonesboro and Craighead County. He has replaced Jeff Presley, who had been E-911 director since 2007. Pillow was promoted by the Metropolitan Planning Organization of Jonesboro and Craighead County to director of the Northeast Arkansas Regional Transportation Planning Commission. Director Christopher Wray has named James A. Dawson special agent in charge of the FBI’s Little Rock Field Office in Arkansas. Dawson most recently served as special agent in charge of the Criminal & Cyber Division of the Washington Field Office.

(KAIT) - A railroad crossing in Bay is now closed, with emergency officials asking people to find an alternate route. According to Jonesboro/Craighead County E-911 Director Jeff Presley, the Elder Street crossing in Bay was closed by Burlington Northern Santa Fe at 7 a.m. Wednesday and will be closed until 7 p.m. May 13. Officials said an alternate route would be the Main/Highway 463 crossing on the north end of town.

(KAIT) - A locked storage building housing city-owned vehicles was no match for determined catalytic converter thieves. Police say the culprits just cut through the wall. Jeff Presley, E911 director, reported the theft Tuesday afternoon to Jonesboro police. According to the initial incident report, sometime between April 18 and May 11, someone entered the storage building on Strawfloor Road and removed the catalytic converters from five city-owned vehicles, including a 2014 Mercedes-Benz SUV.
