Chef Jose Garces’ Philadelphia restaurants are ready to get some love while showing some love for Valentine’s Day. Garces shares some of the tasty dishes for the holiday with Philly Live’s Aunyea Lachelle. They are even offering breakfast in bed. Other Philadelphia restaurants have Valentine’s weekend specials of their own.

HOLLYWOOD This has seriously become my favorite new culinary series, I’m referring to the Food Network series “Tournament of Champions” hosted by Guy Fieri. I swear Fieri is GOLD for the network, the fact that this guy was discovered in the second season of Food Network Star and became such a staple, erase that, ICON at the network says it all. This guy is talented beyond talent; he’s not just a great culinary genius, but an exceptional host America.
So the series takes some of the best chefs in the country and puts them in a bracket style competition. You win you move on, you lose and you’re out. The chefs are ranked based on their competitive prowess and we’ve seen some titans fall already in season two. I mean Elizabeth Faulker; this woman was magnificent in seasons four and five of “The Next Iron Chef” competition. She didn’t make it past the first round people. Devastated beyond belief. With the turn in the weather, New Hope s dining scene is also going through changes Jose Garces has left Stella of New Hope, Logan s Inn and sister Mansion Inn are under construction (Logan s Inn will open in June and Mansion Inn in late summer) and Triumph Brewing Company will reopen in the next couple of weeks.
Warmer days mean finding the perfect spot to dine outdoors, especially after months of staying inside, hiding from the pandemic while ordering takeout.
The sun’s out, flowers are blooming and more people are getting vaccinated, so dining al fresco seems like the right move.
Éclat Chocolate was established in 2005 by chocolate maker Christopher Curtin, who traveled the world in order to hone his craft. A Wisconsin native, Curtin trained at the House of les Compagnons du Duvoir in Paris and later became the first American to receive the honor of German master pastry chef and chocolatier. His influences and techniques draw on chocolate-making traditions from Belgium, Switzerland, Japan, France and Germany but also more local inspirations.
