He was born Sept. 8, 1944, in Warren, the son of Steven and Elizabeth Zombar.
He was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School in 1962. He also served in the Army as a medical lab technician at Fort Ord, Calif.
He worked at Packard Electric for 30 years until his retirement in 1999. He was a member of IUE Local 717. Steve enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns and Indians. He also enjoyed reading and watching anything about World War II.
He married Betty Rati in 1968. Steve was a devout Byzantine Catholic and served as an altar server in his youth at SS. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church.

WARREN A Warren man accused of assaulting a week-old baby girl in August pleaded guilty Tuesday to reduced charges in the felony case.
Andrew J. Jacobs, 27, of 1951 Southern Blvd. NW, Apt. 16, appeared with his attorney Charles Mickens before Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Andrew D. Logan. Jacobs pleaded guilty to two counts of endangering children, while prosecutors dismissed two counts of felonious assault.
Logan will sentence Jacobs after he undergoes a background investigation conducted by the court’s adult probation department. The judge told the defendant he could face an indefinite sentence of between two and 20 years.

GIRARD John F. “Jack” Licek, 63, passed away Friday evening, Dec. 4, 2020, at Select Specialty Hospital in Youngstown following a battle with COVID-19.
Jack was born March 5, 1957, in Youngstown, a son of the late John and Ruth Bowles Licek, and was a lifelong area resident.
He was a 1975 graduate of Girard High School and worked as a saw operator for Polaris Window and Door for 38 years.
Jack was of the Catholic faith.
Jack was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates and NASCAR. He enjoyed playing slot machines and visiting casinos, and he liked scratch-off lottery tickets. Most of all, John enjoyed the time he spent with his family and friends.
