The region’s vaccine total has risen, quite slowly this week, above the 3,000 level.
Dr. Paul Roumeliotis, the medical officer of health, expects a much sharper rise in numbers next week, after three trays, or about 3,300 doses, arrive in the area and become available for distribution. The week after that, 4,400 more doses are expected to arrive.

“Things are progressing as quickly as they can, based on our supply,” Roumeliotis said at his Thursday afternoon media briefing.

CORNWALL – Residents at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Center will be able to cycle virtually in the future.
The Kinsmen Club of Cornwall has made a $12,000 donation to the York Street nursing home so it can buy a jDome BikeAround.
The “experience bike” developed in Sweden costs about $16,300 U.S., plus a monthly upgrade and maintenance fee of $200 U.S.
The recumbent stationary bike uses Google Street View to allow its riders to virtually visit place in the area – and around the world.
CORNWALL A Cornwall long-term care nurse has been brightening up residents days with her artistic talent throughout this pandemic, by drawing characters on her masks every day. Laura Mackenzie says it all started last spring when the mandatory mask rule was introduced at St. Joseph s Continuing Care Centre (JCCC). It was Good Friday actually and I happened to be with a friend of mine, one of the RPNs, and we decided to draw on each others masks because we wanted to make it fun, we wanted to be different, Mackenzie said. So she drew a bunny on me and I think I drew teeth and a tongue. The next day when I came in, put on my plain boring mask, I said, Ah I should keep this going. So I grabbed a highlighter and tried to draw lips, it did not go good, but I just decided I was going to be better tomorrow and that was that, Mackenzie said.
