Amazon retail CEO Dave Clark s direct reports show his priorities

REUTERS/Lindsey Wasson Dave Clark was promoted to Amazon s CEO of worldwide consumer this year. Clark s role covers almost every aspect of Amazon s retail business. His direct reports include execs in charge of the marketplace, Prime, and logistics, among others. Dave Clark s first official move after being promoted to Amazon s retail chief this year was to write a letter to President Joe Biden, offering help to vaccinate 100 million Americans in the first 100 days of the administration. As part of the move, Clark also brought on a longtime Amazon executive, Nader Kabbani, as one of his direct reports to lead the vaccination efforts, as Insider previously reported. Kabbani s job is to build up a newly created team fully dedicated to giving employees access to COVID-19 vaccines when they become available at a wider scale.

This year has seen the deaths of legends and loved ones alike. Many across the country, and close to home, were claimed by COVID-19, while others succumbed to the ravages of illness or time. Others were children who barely had time to make their marks in this world. As a rough year ends, The Sacramento OBSERVER takes a minute to reflect and acknowledge some of the many Blacks who died in 2020. They are gone, but not forgotten.
