There are not many photographs of Jason Buley.
The 46-year-old Holland Patent resident and village of Whitesboro police chief, who died Feb. 2 of cardiac arrest, hated the spotlight, according to his friend Dana Nimey-Olney. He hated having his picture taken, to the point it was a joke between us where I would make sure I got his picture, she said. So, other ones I ve snuck of him over the years, while he was working or whatever, are the pictures that we have.
Nimey-Olney, the village historian and a former village clerk, said she first met Buley when he was 23 years old and starting part-time as a police officer in Whitesboro. It was his first and only department he would serve in.
The Village Whitesboro and the local community continues to mourn the unexpected loss of Whitesboro Police Chief Jason Buley. Buley died early on Tuesday of cardiac arrest, according to the village.

Chief Buley died of a massive heart attack Tuesday morning, at his home. He was 45 years old. Village Mayor, Robert Friedlander, shared the sad news at the village offices Tuesday, surrounded by past and present village employees, who were clearly devastated.
