A 15-year-old boy was shot in the arm Saturday night during an altercation in a restroom at Sunset View Park in Chula Vista, police said.
The teen, who is from San Ysidro, was taken to Rady Children’s Hospital where he was reported to be in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries, said Chula Vista police Lt. Jason Deaner.
The incident occurred around 7 p.m. when the teen went to use the park restroom while his grandmother waited for him in the car, Deaner said. There was an altercation with two other males inside the restroom and the boy was shot in the arm. The ages of the two other individuals, who have yet to be apprehended, are unknown.
CHULA VISTA (KUSI) – A man who claimed to have killed his wife holed up in his South Bay home Friday, prompting a daylong police standoff that ended in his arrest.
The suspect, whose name was not immediately available, was taken into custody at the house in the 700 block of Glover Avenue in Chula Vista about 6 p.m., according to police. Details on his arrest and the status of his spouse were not immediately available.
Officers had surrounded the house two blocks north of Chula Vista High School late Friday morning.
The man inside the residence called the police Thursday night to report that he had killed his wife, but investigators were not immediately able to determine where he lived, Chula Vista Police Department Lt. Jason Deaner said.
