CHULA VISTA Several people were injured and taken to hospitals Wednesday evening after a suspected drunken driver in a speeding SUV collided with at least three other vehicles in Chula Vista’s Otay Ranch neighborhood, police said. None of the injuries were expected to be life-threatening, according to Chula Vista police Lt. Gino Grippo, who said detectives were conducting an investigation into whether the SUV’s driver, who was among those injured in the crash, was under the influence of alcohol. It happened around 5:20 p.m. on East Palomar Street at Santa Olivia Road, Grippo said. A black BMW SUV was speeding west on Palomar when it struck the other vehicles.

(CNS) - At least three people were hospitalized with serious injuries after a speeding SUV collided with three other vehicles in Chula Vista s Otay Ranch neighborhood, police said Thursday. The crash happened about 5:20 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of East Palomar Street and Santa Olivia Road, Chula Vista police Lt. Matt Smith said. A man speeding in a black BMW SUV was heading westbound on Palomar Street in a lane designated for buses when the SUV struck at least three other vehicles, Smith said.
