Mr Langley-Swain said: “Dilwyn is a lovable Welsh Dragon brought to life by Jess Rose’s adorable illustrations. “I was ecstatic when I heard that our book was going to appear on the popular CBeebies Bedtime Stories and, as a proud Welshman, to hear that Dilwyn will be read by Welsh actor Tom Ellis is the icing on the cake.”
Dilwyn the Welsh Dragon was created as part of a wider children’s book series from Owlet Press in collaboration with The Royal Mint, with the Mint being positioned as the official supplier of the Tooth Fairy. The collaboration includes a series of children’s picture books, as well as board books, aimed at children aged two to six years old. These bedtime tales, with colourful and charismatic illustrations, are a perfect part of the bedtime routine for parents and children.
Council wants to investigate how student information was shared
SOUTH KINGSTOWN â Numerous community members raised concerns to the town council and the school committee this week over a mailer on the school facilities bond issue, which was addressed and sent out to many children in the district.Â
Some of the children who received these mailers were in kindergarten.
Many parents in the district have viewed this as a major breach of student privacy and are concerned that sharing this information with a third party has put their children in jeopardy.
Town Councilwoman Jess Rose made a special motion at Monday nightâs meeting to add this item to the agenda and at least open the matter up for discussion.Â
SOUTH KINGSTOWN â Town Manager Robert Zarnetske released his proposed municipal budget plan this week, which he characterizes as a âbare-bones spending plan.â
The townâs expenditures are anticipated to increase 1.11 percent, amounting to $320,552 over the previous year. The budget âassumes close to level revenues and close to level spending across the board,â but would still require a 0.98 percent increase to the real estate taxes.
This would equate to about 14 cents per-thousand dollars of assessed value, meaning the average homeowner could anticipate a $56 increase to their yearly tax bill. At the moment, due to quickly growing real estate values seen across Rhode Island, the average home in South Kingstown is valued at $400,000.
