Over a dozen volunteers help with the free food distribution Saturday morning at Jefferson and St. Paulâs Lutheran elementary schools. Hundreds of vehicles waited in line to receive food supplies.
NEW ULM Saturday morning, over 100 cars and trucks were lined up on south Garden Street waiting for the free food distribution.
A team of volunteers set up stations in the Jefferson and St. Paul’s Lutheran elementary schools’ parking lots.
Cars entered the lot from Garden Street, and volunteers loaded vehicles with food supplies. Each family received a gallon of milk, a bag of apples, a bag of carrots and a bag of protein products.

MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - There are millions of people who are struggling with economic issues and social hardships in the older age range and that is why Open Door Health Center is tackling this problem head-on.
âTo overcome that difficulty of getting information to that age range and make sure that they know weâre here for them,â Open Door Health Center Community Outreach Manager Jayme Enamorado said.
