BROWN COUNTY The United Way Spring Day of Caring events began Friday and continues through Saturday.
Multiple teams connected with the United Way were outside completing spring maintenance projects for those in need. On Friday, 19 different teams completed 50 projects.
The projects varied depending on the home they were visiting. Some teams cleaned up shrubs or cleared gutters. A three-woman team with Lisa Jasperson, Diane Franta and Susan Rutscher washed windows at multiple homes.

Over a dozen volunteers help with the free food distribution Saturday morning at Jefferson and St. Paulâs Lutheran elementary schools. Hundreds of vehicles waited in line to receive food supplies.
NEW ULM Saturday morning, over 100 cars and trucks were lined up on south Garden Street waiting for the free food distribution.
A team of volunteers set up stations in the Jefferson and St. Paul’s Lutheran elementary schools’ parking lots.
Cars entered the lot from Garden Street, and volunteers loaded vehicles with food supplies. Each family received a gallon of milk, a bag of apples, a bag of carrots and a bag of protein products.
