35 WorkSource Oregon centers are now back open for in-person services. They’ve been closed since April 2020, due to the pandemic. Everyone receiving unemployment insurance benefits in Oregon is now required to report work search activity when they file a weekly claim. An updated WorkSource Oregon website has also recently launched. NBC5 News Reporter Jenna King is a Burbank native. JACKSONVILLE, Ore. Jacksonville’s McCully House will soon be under new ownership. Two Cave Junction residents and a chef from Jefferson Farm Kitchen are purchasing the McCully House. The home has been around since 1861. Kathryn Moseley and her husband love chef Kristen Lyon’s food from Jefferson Farm Kitchen. They decided to jump in and purchase the McCully House. The new owners say it will bring a unique farm-to-table experience to Jacksonville. “She told me about her 5-year plan to have a bed and breakfast and be a destination where people can have these unique farm-to-table experiences, we leave that lunch and I see the McCully House is for sale, the 5-year plan became a 5-day plan,” said Moseley.

After 45 years of ownership, Rogue Valley group purchasing historic Jacksonville Inn

The ADLO group is made up of Ayala, and three other longstanding southern Oregon residents. Jerry Evans has owned the Jacksonville Inn for the last 45 years. Evans and the group were able to come to terms on a deal this summer. The exact details are not being disclosed at this time, but we’re told the purchase is in escrow. “Our goal is to maintain that legacy that Jerry has created to give our customers the same level of experience that they have had for the last 40 years,” said Ayala. Ayala says the inn will be getting a facelift, but no drastic changes will be made at the restaurant.

MEDFORD, Ore. One non-profit is giving back to those who have given the most and helping some life-long dreams take flight. Dream Flights Foundation restores old biplanes and offers free rides to veterans around the country. I was there as two local veterans soared to new heights. “[It’s] not something you get to do every day,” said Carl Anderson, WWII veteran. The 95-year-old got to see the Rogue Valley from 1,000 feet up on Monday. Thanks to the Dream Flights Foundation, along with other sponsors. Mike Sommars travels the country to gives seniors a birdseye view. “We just want to honor them for what they did,” said Sommars.

As Covid-19 cases surge, R V hospitals say masks aren t going anywhere in their facilities

MEDFORD, Ore. The CDC recommended Tuesday children in school wear masks at all times, whether they’re vaccinated or not. Meanwhile, southern Oregon continues to see a surge in COVID-19 cases. Local health officials say its masking policies aren’t going anywhere. Both Asante and Providence have had a mask policy in place since the start of the pandemic. Asante says it’s seen a dramatic rise in cases. Last month it averaged 8 to 10 COVID-19 patients a day, Tuesday that number is 40. Providence also says vaccinated or not, masks will be required in each of its facilities. “It’s to protect our caregivers, it’s to protect our patients that are coming in, we don’t know who has been vaccinated and who hasn’t, we’re not asking we’re just taking the precautions necessary to keep people safe,” said Chris Pizzi, CEO of Providence Medical Center.
