Updated: 3:27 PM EST January 28, 2021 ATHENS, Ga. More than $50,000 has been raised for a young Athens boy after he lost his family in an unthinkably tragic house fire on Wednesday. Three people died in the fire, which 12-year-old Taeden Johnson escaped. The Athens-Clarke County Coroner s Office identified the victims as 52-year-old Penny Fields, 35-year-old Penyada Fields and a 9-year-old girl as Mariah Fields. Taeden was taken to a hospital with burn injuries that were described as not life-threatening, as well as some smoke inhalation. A young boy managed to escape with minor burns and some smoke inhalation, Fire Capt. Nathan Moss said. 3 dead, 1 hospitalized after fire at mobile home park January 28, 2021 GMT ATHENS, Ga. (AP) Three people died and a child was hospitalized following a home fire at a mobile home park in Georgia. The bodies of the victims was found by fire crews early Wednesday morning in Athens after a neighbor called to report the blaze, the Athens-Clarke County Fire Department said in a statement. The Athens Banner-Herald reports the victims were two women and a girl. Authorities said their bodies were taken to the State Crime Lab for positive identification.
