Kalamazoo County Prosecutor says deputy was justified in December shooting By Will Kriss Jun 30, 2021 | 3:48 PM KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Deputy will not face any charges after being cleared in a fatal December shooting, according to County Prosecutor Jeff Getting. Shortly before 7 a.m. on December 18, police were called to a residential home on Morningstar Way in Kalamazoo, and Deputy Michael Leeger was the first to respond. The call came in to dispatchers about a suicidal person armed with a knife. The report says that call came from his mother and her partner, who were also stabbed with a kitchen knife.

KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) Jazmonique Strickland, the wife of former pastor Stricjavvar “Strick” Strickland, has had all charges of criminal sexual conduct involving minors dropped against her, according to a report from MLive Wednesday. That comes after a warrant for her arrest was issued earlier this year on several alleged sex crimes, and after her husband was arrested last year. Jazmonique Strickland was previously charged with felony counts related to child sexual assault and human trafficking of a minor. She and her husband are alleged to have paid teenage boys for sexual acts and photographs between the years of 2015 and 2018.
