Plans for the path leading to Westerings School from Elizabeth Close, Hockley, have finally come to fruition after funding was granted by Essex County Council. Families and parents who struggled to wheel their buggies through the “dirt track” got in touch with ward councillor Julie Gooding asking for something to be done. Julie has spent the last three years trying to get the footpath upgraded and her efforts have finally paid off as work has begun to resurface the track. After hearing about a funding opportunity with Essex County Council, Julie applied for the Public Rights of Way grant to help with the improvements to the path.
