FROM international competitors to a 91-year-old who still plays three days a week, the Queanbeyan Croquet Club proudly continues to celebrate the obscure, yet deeply historic game with an event on “World Croquet Day” (May 1).
Following the formation of the Canberra Club in 1928, croquet rolled on into Queanbeyan by 1934, charting its way from as far back as 13th Century France where the game is believed to have originated.
The first “court” on which the sport would be enjoyed in Queanbeyan was part of an old police paddock when the population of the town was still only a few thousand.
FORT WAYNE â RE/MAX Resultsâ Angola office was recently recognized as the top RE/MAX office in Indiana for a single office in a small market for closed sales and transactions.
The Angola office received the designation during a recent awards ceremony, where RE/MAX Results, which has five offices in northern and central Indiana, also honored more than 80 associates for their sales achievements in 2020.
Award winners were recognized at the RE/MAX Results Awards Celebration on Wednesday at the Grand Wayne Center in Fort Wayne.
âWeâre very proud to have such a strong team representing RE/MAX in northern Indiana and look forward to each associateâs continued success,â Todd Stock, broker/owner of RE/MAX Results said in a news release.

The wife of a man that was killed on a tugboat near Kitimat B.C. is hoping to see the tugboat recovered.
Judy Pearson whose husband Troy was killed in an accident on February 11 set up a petition hoping to see the Canadian Coast Guard recover the tugboat. She hopes that recovering the tug will not only recover the contents of the tug but also give some closure.
Pearson is hoping with the recovery of the tugboat that they may also find out why the tugboat sank. In the post she says they were told there is no priority to find the tug as it is not an environmental risk.
