The Aspen Institute and some restaurant-industry heavyweights have rolled out a set of universal guidelines for both dining establishments and the people who frequent them in the COVID-19 era. the industry standards were put together by the Institute’s Food and Safety Program in collaboration with José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen, the James Beard Foundation, the National Restaurant Association, the Independent Restaurant Coalition, and One Fair Wage.
Safety First includes a Diner Code of Conduct and what’s expected from restaurant patrons while dining indoors, Our Covid Pledge for restaurant owners and operators, and a set of ventilation guidelines for restaurants.

Amid the changes brought on by the pandemic, the organizers of Aspen’s annual Wintersköl want people to know “The Snow Must Go On.”
The slogan for this year’s event, which starts Thursday and runs through Sunday, was picked for the 70th annual event going on under “unique circumstances,” organizers said Monday in a news release.

Monday’s decision to close indoor dining has left a bad taste in the mouths of many restaurateurs and the roughly 1,500 restaurant workers between Aspen and Snowmass Village.
The Pitkin County Board of Health’s unanimously voted Monday to limit restaurants to takeout only starting Sunday and move into Red-level restrictions in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19.
