Mother, daughter stabbed in Oshawa Posted on May 14, 2021 by oshawaexpress in CRIME A mother and daughter were taken to hospital after being stabbed in Oshawa Tuesday night. Durham police were called to the area of Gibb Street and Thornton Road South for reports of a stabbing on Tuesday, May 11 around 10:35 p.m. Police say an altercation had ensued between the 13-year-old female victim and suspects and the victim was subsequently stabbed. The 37-year-old mother intervened and was also stabbed by one of the suspects. The suspects fled the scene. Police arrived along with Durham Paramedic Services and both victims were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. They were treated and have since been released.

'Family feud' behind frightening bus brawl

Premium Content Subscriber only A FIGHT that broke out among passengers on a public bus was part of an ongoing family dispute, a court heard this week. When the bus driver hailed police for help, officers boarded to find the disturbance had erupted at the rear of the bus. One man was seen standing on a seat kicking Jay Masso. Several passengers were charged, including Masso, who went before court on Friday for his role in the incident. Jay Frances Masso, 38, from Bellbird Park, pleaded guilty to causing public nuisance on a bus at Riverview on Monday, March 15. Prosecutor Sergeant Trent Voigt said police were waved down by the bus driver at Gibb Street just after 2pm.
