The affiliates won three out of four games on Sunday, and nearly took all four with the Hops rallying from behind in the ninth to pull within a run of winning.

Zach Lee got the start, and was solid in his five innings of work. Lee allowed a run on four hits and a walk, while striking out five. The lone run came via a solo homer in the bottom of the fifth. Down one run, the Aces answered back with five runs in the top of the sixth. Juniel Querecuto singled, Seth Beer was hit by pitch, and Drew Ellis walked to load the bases. The Diamondbacks Minor League affiliates combined for a 2-1 record. Reno had the day off, which likely played in the decision to activate Ketel Marte. Amarillo and Visalia both had walk-off wins with the former needing 12 innings to get the job done.
Best Pitching Performance: Amarillo LHP Tyler Holton - 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 8 K
Best Hitting Performance: Visalia C Andy Yerzy - 2 for 4, 2-R HR (2), IBB, 1 K
This game didn’t feature a lot of offense, but Amarillo was able to pull it out in the end. Tyler Holton started the game and allowed only 1 hit and struck out 8 in 4 scoreless innings. Both teams would exchange runs in the 6th for the only runs in regulation. The Poodles first run came on Jarett Rindfleisch’s second homer in 2 days. The Diamondbacks Minor League affiliates ended up going 2-2 last night and from the title you can tell which two teams won. Reno and Amarillo won by 15 and 10 runs respectively and a lot of good news for an organization that needed it. Taylor Widener looked solid in his rehab outing for Reno, allowing just solo homers in 4

3 innings with 1 walk and 6 strikeouts over 74 pitches. Ketel Marte saw 4 plate appearances and went 2 for 3 with a walk, 2 RBI, and 2 runs scored. Both players seem nearly ready to return to the MLB roster.

3 innings in his first affiliated ball start since Tommy John surgery. He only allowed 2 hits and struck out 8, but walked 4. It was a somewhat encouraging first game back, but we’ll probably need at least a 5-game sample before we consider him as an option for the MLB rotation.

Amarillo struggled to stay in this game. Tommy Henry and Justin Vernia allowed 7 runs in the 2nd and 3rd innings, as both pitchers were plagued by the long ball. In total, Amarillo pitchers allowed 4 homers. The Amarillo offense consisted of only two solo home runs, hit by Dominic Fletcher and Ryder Jones.
