Diamondbacks Minor League Recap 5/19/21: Walkoffs galore

The Diamondbacks Minor League affiliates combined for a 2-1 record. Reno had the day off, which likely played in the decision to activate Ketel Marte. Amarillo and Visalia both had walk-off wins with the former needing 12 innings to get the job done.
Best Pitching Performance: Amarillo LHP Tyler Holton - 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 8 K
Best Hitting Performance: Visalia C Andy Yerzy - 2 for 4, 2-R HR (2), IBB, 1 K
This game didn’t feature a lot of offense, but Amarillo was able to pull it out in the end. Tyler Holton started the game and allowed only 1 hit and struck out 8 in 4 scoreless innings. Both teams would exchange runs in the 6th for the only runs in regulation. The Poodles first run came on Jarett Rindfleisch’s second homer in 2 days. The two teams would go into extra innings, which meant the B.S. baseball rules. Both teams would come up empty in the 10th before scoring in the 11th. Midland would score their free runner in the 11th with a double while the Poodles took advantage of a passed ball on a strikeout to score their run. Amarillo would get a scoreless 12th from Edgar Arrendondo before a walking off on a 2-out single by Dominic Fletcher scored Alek Thomas from 3rd for Amarillo’s only hit with a runner in scoring position.
