CLINTON/WEST BOYLSTON - Gordon Lankton has been called the savior of Clinton and an icon.
Lankton has been a larger-than-life character for as long as most Clintonians can remember. He is the outsider who loved this community like a native and became accepted as one of them (something that longtime residents understand since it is hard to be accepted as a Clintonian if you were not born here).
He grew Nypro into an international plastics firm, turned his hobby of collecting Russian iconography into an internationally-recognized museum located in the center of Clinton and has been credited with the idea that became Clinton Parks and Recreation.
Remainder of Weetabix parcels sold to same purchaser from last year
CLINTON - The entire Weetabix site - both on the Cameron and Green street side of the Nashua River - is now under single ownership.
And the principle of the company said residents should see multiple tenants being attracted to the site, bringing in new jobs.
Dmitriy Chebotarev is the CEO and partner of Vosht Capital, based in California, which is the registered owner of the limited liability corporation, Clinton Cameron Mass. LLC, listed on the sale.
In an interview Tuesday, Chebotarev said the whole site - 450,000 square feet of space in several buildings - was purchased in phases. The first was in March-April of 2020, two buildings behind Green Street; the south side of the river was finalized in November; and the northeast section was purchased in February. According to records, the 2020 purchases were for $4.6 million. The most recent purchase was for $1.35 million, according to the Registry of Deeds.
