The dry weather over the last few weeks may have seen farmers and crofters prioritise busy spring work over their SAF, but the Union would now urge them to take the time to fill out their application form NFU SCOTLAND has issued a two-week warning to farmer and crofters to complete their Single Applications before the window closes on May 17. The Union understands that around one third of expected applications have been completed – which is ahead of the same point in 2019, but lower than this time last year. The online application process has significantly improved in recent years and most applications are now made online. By applying online, the system will flag any errors before submitting it.

The deadline for 2021 Single Application Form is fast approaching
With just under two weeks left until the Single Application Form (SAF) deadline, farmers are being reminded to complete and send them away as soon as possible.
The SAF is the form needed to fill in if farmers in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland want to claim payments from schemes such as BPS and agri-environmental ones.
The application window closes on Monday 17 May.
NFU Scotland is one group encouraging farmers to prioritise filling out their forms as soon as possible.
The union says only one third of expected applications have been completed.

He grabs at a couple in particular, showing his sister, Teresa Thomas, and her teenage children, Tiera Agee and Demetrius Thomas.
“On days like now, I’d be over there,” Hall said on a recent, sunny Friday evening. “My sister would be cooking.”
The five victims were shot and killed inside the home they shared with the suspect along the 2800 block of North 12th Street, in the North Division neighborhood, on the Milwaukee’s north side. It was the second mass shooting Milwaukee experienced during a historically violent 2020, just two months after five people were shot and killed at the Molson Coors complex.
