READERS have hit out after a group of geese were ploughed into in Barrow. A number of adults and chick were left dead after a driver reportedly ploughed into a group of geese in Wilkie Road. Mail readers have slammed the incident as disgusting . Lynne Morgan said: It’s so sad that someone is in such a rush that they can do this. Poor little things I hope they didn’t suffer. Michelle Chamberlain said: We live opposite the res and frequently go to feed the geese and ducks - this is terrible. Maybe council could put some signs up to warn people as they often cross the busy road.

A Saltsburg woman was sentenced yesterday in Indiana County Court for her guilty pleas to charges related to an incident in 2019.
On Monday, 51-year-old Jacqueline Pratt of Saltsburg pleaded guilty to charges of Accidents involving death or personal injury and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. For both counts, she was ordered to serve three to 12 months in Indiana County Jail. She was also ordered to serve up to two years of probation after her prison time. President Judge Thomas Bianco ordered her paroled immediately.
Pratt is also due for a preliminary hearing on February 22

In Indiana County Court today, there are a number of proceedings on the docket, including jury selection for two trials.
A jury will be chosen for the trial of 48-year-old Monte McMasters of Indiana, who is charged with a felony firearms violation, along with simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, terroristic threats, harassment, disorderly conduct, and summary public drunkenness.
A jury will also be chosen for a theft case against 50-year-old Cyndi K-P Patz of Marion Center.
There are two petitions for relief to be considered today before Judge Michael Clark. 61-year-old Raymond Wayne Parks is appealing his sentences in two DUI cases.
