DOVER, N.H. Lebanon Post 22 stayed alive in the New Hampshire American Legion junior state tournament hunt by riding stellar pitching from Freddy Mierke and Nick Brill to a 3-2 win over Dover Post 9 on Saturday at Dover High School.
The victory kept Post 22 (5-10) tied with Merrimack Post 98 for the fourth and final tourney spot out of District A. Both teams have two games left on their regular-season slates.
Mierke earned the win for Lebanon, throwing six innings and allowing just one earned run with four hits, two walks and six strikeouts. Brill came on in the seventh to shut down Dover (7-5) without allowing a run.

A survivor of heinous child sex offending confronted one of his abusers in court today, calling paedophile Wayne Moonie a cockroach before saying he forgave him.
From a 1980s child abuse ring to more recent offending on the dark web s internet underworld, Moonie offended against multiple boys, some as young as 10.
Forty-one years after he was a young teenager drawn into a drug-peddling circle of paedophiles, Roger Allison outlined the destructive spiral the abuse sent him down.
On Tuesday, Moonie was sentenced to six years and five months in prison when he appeared at the Auckland District Court. A survivor of his abuse, Roger Allison, took the step of asking the court to lift his statutory name suppression.

Roger Allison told his abuser that he forgives him in court on Tuesday. He wept as he told the court of the devastation caused by Moonie’s sexual offending, and described Moonie and his friends as “cockroaches”. He spoke of a broken marriage and financial losses. He ended his statement by telling Moonie: “One final thing, Wayne – I forgive you.”
