Paedophile preyed on children for decades, shared thousands of sex abuse photos

On Tuesday, Moonie was sentenced to six years and five months in prison when he appeared at the Auckland District Court.
A survivor of his abuse, Roger Allison, took the step of asking the court to lift his statutory name suppression.

Roger Allison told his abuser that he forgives him in court on Tuesday.
He wept as he told the court of the devastation caused by Moonie’s sexual offending, and described Moonie and his friends as “cockroaches”.
He spoke of a broken marriage and financial losses. He ended his statement by telling Moonie: “One final thing, Wayne – I forgive you.”
