Gov. Kemp preaches restraint amid fuel frenzy
State addressing run on gas stations and price gouging
In addition to Tuesday s executive orders, the state is asking consumers to report complains of potential price gouging.
ATLANTA - Gov. Brian Kemp urged consumers not to stock up on fuel as gas stations run short on supply and prices steadily rise. My main message to Georgians today is that the most effective way to address the fuel shortages we are experiencing is for everyone to remain calm and only get the fuel you need to carry out essential activities, said Gov. Kemp. Please do not go out and fill up every five gallon can that you have. Doing so will only mean this shortage will last longer and more Georgians will be unable to make it to work, take their kids to school or get to their medical appointment.

Gov. Brian Kemp has signed an executive order suspending state taxes on motor fuels through Saturday to offset increasing prices after a computer hack shut down a pipeline that carries fuel to much of Georgia.
Kemp said he wants to provide price relief from increasing fuel prices because of the Colonial Pipeline outage. Georgia collects a gasoline tax of 28.7 cents a gallon and a diesel tax of 32.2 cents a gallon.

Alabama
Tuscaloosa: Alabama football has developed a reputation for drawing big crowds to its A-Day spring football game, but even at limited capacity, the 2021 game earned a distinction. Saturday’s attendance of 47,218 is the highest at any U.S. sporting event since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Yahoo! Sports. Capacity at Bryant-Denny Stadium was capped at 50%, or a little more than 50,000 fans. Alabama, which traditionally offers free admission to the event, charged $5 for tickets this year so it could control the number of people admitted and allow attendees to socially distance. It came within a few thousand tickets of selling out available seating. According to Yahoo, Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, is the lone large stadium allowing full-capacity crowds. The Texas Rangers drew 38,238 for opening day. Alabama drew an overflow crowd of 92,138 to its 2007 spring game, Nick Saban’s first at UA, and has had atten
