VI-grade acquires Concurrent Real-Time

VI-grade acquires Concurrent Real-Time VI-grade has announced the acquisition of Concurrent Real-Time, a US provider of high-performance, real-time computational hardware and software solutions, from Battery Ventures, a Boston-based PE firm. The transaction, which values Concurrent at $167m, is in line with VI-grade’s strategy to enhance and grow its market-leading simulator platform businesses and fully integrate Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) technology. Headquartered in Pompano Beach, Florida, USA, Concurrent-RT is a developer and supplier of hard real-time operating systems, software, and hardware that delivers simulation and control platforms for a wide range of mission-critical aerospace and automotive applications. As such, the company shares a number of end-markets with VI-grade where customers demand low-latency real-time solutions involving software-in-the-loop (SiL), hardware-in-the-loop (HiL), and people-in-the-loop (PiL).

Keysight unveils Smart Bench Essentials portfolio

Keysight unveils Smart Bench Essentials portfolio Keysight has launched a portfolio of lab bench products that deliver the capabilities of four compact instruments and are intended for small manufacturing businesses and modern university teaching laboratories. The Smart Bench Essentials (SBE) lab bench products comprise of a triple-output power supply, an arbitrary function generator, a digital multimeter and an oscilloscope, all accessed through one powerful graphical interface offering integrated data management and analysis capabilities. General test labs need test instruments that are connected to each other, the lab and to the cloud so as to accelerate insights, whether in learning, teaching or troubleshooting.

Paragraf unveils Hall Effect sensor designed for battery applications

Paragraf unveils Hall Effect sensor designed for battery applications Paragraf, a specialist in graphene-based transformative electronic devices, has announced a graphene Hall Effect sensor that has been designed for battery applications, such as the electric vehicle (EV) sector. The graphene GHS01AT Hall Effect sensor is optimised for use in relatively low field environments and normal ambient temperatures. Bringing the magnetic field measurement resolution towards that of more complex magnetic sensors, yet with the small size and ease of use of a Hall sensor, it is able to address a much broader range of monitoring tasks beyond that of conventional technologies.

Anritsu and Tektronix introduce PCI Express 5 0 Test System

Anritsu and Tektronix introduce PCI Express 5.0 Test System Anritsu and Tektronix are to provide an automated PCI Express 5.0 (PCIe Gen5) test solution that combines Anritsu’s Signal Quality Analyzer-R MP1900A BERT series with Tektronix’s DPO70000SX series 70 GHz Real-time Oscilloscope and automation software. This all in one solution supports tests of PCIe 5.0 electrical characteristics, physical-layer protocol analysis, and transmitter/receiver and Link Equalization Training (LEQ) tests to facilitate efficient development of high-speed ICs, devices, and networks used in emerging environments, including 5G. This test solution can be quickly configured to support required PCIe 5.0 specifications and supports automated transmitter test, receiver jitter tolerance test, and Tx/Rx LEQ compliance test items.

PCI EXPRESS 5 0 transceiver and reference clock solution

PCI EXPRESS 5.0 transceiver and reference clock solution Tektronix, in collaboration with Anritsu, has introduced a PCI EXPRESS 5.0 transceiver (Base and CEM) and reference clock solution. It is the first company to offer early CEM fixtures for pre-compliance testing. The collaboration between Tektronix and Anritsu enables receiver verification, complementing a leading transmitter and reference clock test suite. PCI EXPRESS is viewed as the dominant high-speed serial computer bus and has been doubling bandwidth every three years and is exceeding that target with this aggressive introduction of the 5.0 Base Specification (128 GB/s). This rapid pace of development is expected to continue as PCI-SIG, the standard-setting body for peripheral component I/O data transfers, has announced the PCI EXPRESS 6.0 specification (256 GB/s) which is to be delivered in 2021 and includes multi-level PAM4 signaling.
