The opening of Livestock Expo 2021 on Saturday was marked by a fiery speech by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, who dubbed the election for the office of Senate chairperson held the previous day as the “worst in the history of Pakistan.”
“The country will remember the Friday’s election as the worst ever conducted in the country,” he said while speaking to media persons. “The Senate is formed through the votes of the members of provincial assemblies, and we being the MPAs will fight for our votes,” he vowed.

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The crushing defeat inflicted by the government’s candidates on their rivals Pakistan Democratic Movement’s (PDM) nominees for the top slots of Senate on Friday put a question mark on the future of the already fragile opposition alliance.
The PDM, a group of 11 political parties, was formed on September 20, 2020 on one-point agenda to replace the Imran Khan government as it is nothing with the public issues.
The PDM is a ‘Marriage of Convenience’ because all the allied parties belong to different political ideologies and having nothing in common but they have joined hands since Prime Minister Imran Khan is their sole target to get rid of.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) head Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman on Saturday contacted Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari to discuss political situation arising after Chairman Senate elections.
As per details, JUI-F head also discussed upcoming opposition’s long march. The trio also agreed to approach relevant forums against election of top slots of the upper house of the parliament.
It merits mention that on Friday elected by a majority vote the government-backed Sadiq Sanjrani as Chairman Senate and Mirza Mohammad Afridi as Deputy Chairman Senate.
