Three days after 22-year-old Devontay Allen was shot and killed at Cheatham Park, dozens of family and friends came out to remember him and the three others who were injured. Devontay s death marks the twenty-second homicide in Little Rock this year. It s also the third time a shooting has happened at a park.

The families of the victims shot in the Cheatham Park drive-by shooting in east Little Rock on Sunday are begging for a stop to the gun violence in Little Rock. 22-year-old Devontay Allen was shot and killed. Two girls, aged 3 and 4, were also shot and recovering. This is the third time this year a shooting has happened in a Little Rock park.

Frustration, anger after Little Rock park shooting leaves 1 dead, children injured © Provided by KATV Little Rock/Pine Bluff Little Rock Police are continuing their search for the person who opened fire at Cheatham Park on Sunday.  According to police, the shooting left one man dead and wounded three others. Two children, ages 3 and 4, are among those injured.  Family members said one of the children who was shot is at Arkansas Children’s Hospital in a body cast. The other has been treated and released. The crime scene at Cheatham Park was full of police tape and investigators, but on Monday afternoon, members of the community voiced their frustration about how they are tired of violence in the city. Some of those who spoke out against the violence are family members of the four victims who were shot at the park. Community activist Natalie James said city leaders need to do something to reduce the shootings.
