Hitting out at misrule of LDF govt, UDF launches state-wide rally

Kumbala, Jan 31: Attacking the CPI(M)-led LDF government over its five year misrule and promising a clean and good governance, the Opposition Congress led UDF on Sunday launched a 22-day state-wide yatra wooing the people ahead of the assembly polls, likely to be held in April-May this year.

Flagging off the Aiswarya Kerala yatra, led by leader of the Opposition in the state assembly, Ramesh Chennithala, at Kumbala in northernmost Kasaragod district, former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said the LDF government had made a lot of claims on its achievements during its tenure.

New Delhi: AICC General Secretary Tariq Anwar, who recently visited Kerala and held meetings with the State leaders, has submitted a report to the party high command regarding Congress’ poor show in the local body elections.
Last week, a delegation led by Tariq Anwar, in-charge of Kerala visited the state and heard the views of Congress leaders following the poll debacle.
According to the sources within the Congress party, Anwar has recommended reshuffle in Congress from district to block levels. It is also mentioned in the report that Congress should recapture its traditional vote base and that Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi should pay more focus to Kerala.
