Louisiana Steals the Sweep From Texas State
The Ragin Cajuns went into San Marcos and stole the victory away from the Bobcats of Texas State. In the final seconds of the game when all looked lost, Devin Butts came away with a steal and lay up that sealed the game for UL. Louisiana defeated the Bobcats 74 to 73.
Louisiana started off the second half rocky, similarly to yesterdays victory. Texas State went on a 10-0 run, and just like yesterday they were able to overcome the adversity. Louisiana won the first half 38-35. Texas State won the 2nd half 38-36; however, it was not enough to halt the Ragin Cajuns from pulling off the sweep.

Louisiana Edges Out Texas State 62-60
The Ragin Cajuns battled all kinds of adversity today, such as: Coach Marlin not being present due to Covid, an early start time, and a 7-0 run by Texas State in the second half. However, UL was able to procure the victory 62-60.
Louisiana outscored Texas State in the 1st half 31-24, while Texas State won the second half 36-31. Texas State went on a 7-0 run in the first two minutes of the 2nd half. But the Ragin Cajuns weren t deterred, and battled back to get the victory.
Louisiana shot 45.7 % from the field and they shot 33.3% from the 3 point line. Cedric Russell was the high point man for the Cajuns with 21 points, he also added 5 rebounds and 1 steal. Dou Gueye also contributed 11 points and 8 rebounds.

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Cedric Russell scored 13 of his game-high 21 points in the second half and the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Men’s Basketball team won its fourth straight game with a 62-60 Sun Belt Conference victory over Texas State on Saturday at Strahan Arena.
Dou Gueye added a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds as Louisiana (12-4, 6-3 Sun Belt) improved to 6-2 overall in games decided by six points or less while improving to 3-1 overall in road games.
