The CBI on Monday conducted searches at 30 locations across 13 cities in connection with a case against 23 people, including five Lieutenant Colonels, two Majors and others, for their alleged involvement in a recruitment scam in the Army.
The case involving 17 Army officers and personnel has been registered on a complaint from the Defence Ministry’s Integrated Headquarters, alleging that bribes were received for the selection of officers and other ranks through the Service Selection Board (SSB).

The counting of votes for four Assembly seats across three states will be held on Monday. Bawana bye-election in Delhi will decide the fate of candidates of the three major political parties-the ruling AAP, BJP and the Congress, all of whom have exuded confidence about winning the Assembly seat reserved for the SC category. On the other hand, the Panaji seat holds the future for Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar.

Chennai, March 12 : Leading environmentalists in Tamil Nadu have urged political parties to take effective measures to resolve the human-animal conflict in the state. The conflict has claimed 81 human lives since 2016, they say.
The environmental activists called upon the political parties to take up this issue and include it in their election manifestos.
V. Surendra Kumar of the Coimbatore-based organisation Sraddha, while speaking to IANS on Friday, said, Human-animal conflict is a major concern for state administrators. We don t know whether the political parties who are wielding power have any concern for this issue and if this is not taken up seriously, it is certain that more human lives and crops will be lost.
