NEW DELHI, Mar 15: The CBI has booked five Lieutenant Colonel-ranked officers, 12 other personnel and six civilians for alleged corruption in recruitment in the Army through Service Selection Board centres, officials said today.
The agency carried out searches at 30 locations spread across 13 cities, including the Base Hospital in Delhi Cantonment, today in connection with the case, they said.
The search operation was spread across Kapurthala, Bhatinda, Delhi, Kaithal, Palwal, Lucknow, Bareilly, Gorakhpur, Visakhapatnam, Jaipur, Guwahati, Jorhat and Chirangon.
Lt Col MCSNA Bhagwan of the Army Air Defence Corps, the alleged mastermind of the recruitment racket, is among those booked, they said.

Five Lieutenant Colonels, a Major and a Lieutenant of the Indian Army were among 23 people named by the CBI in an investigation into corruption involving recruitment to the force following searches in 30 places in 13 cities. Several incriminating documents related to the recruitment process have been recovered during the searches which are being scrutinized for further investigation, CBI spokesperson R C Joshi said.

New Delhi, March 15 : In a massive action against the recruitment scam case, the CBI on Monday conducted searches at 30 places in several states after registering a case against 17 army officials, including six Lieutenant Colonels, one Major, one Naib Subedar and one Havildar and their family members.
A CBI spokesperson here said that multiple teams of the agency carried out searches at 30 locations including Base Hospital, Cantonment, other Army establishments and civilian areas in 13 cities Kapurthala, Bhathinda, Delhi, Kaithal, Palwal, Lucknow, Bareilly, Gorakhpur, Vishakhapatnam, Jaipur, Guwahati, Jorhat and Chirangon.
