This year’s Coldest Night of the Year fundraiser shifted online for the first time ever due to COVID-19 restrictions, but proved successful nonetheless.
The amount raised exceeded their $25,000 goal, which was greater than the approximately $20,000 raised last year, executive director Barbara McNish said.

There are people in the Houston area who will need shelter against the cold starting Monday (2-15-2021). A Warm Shelter is being set up at GRB by the City of Houston and our tv partner Channel 2 spoke with one of the authorities there. These shelters are necessary for our populations that don t have the ability to heat their homes as well as the homeless population. The warm shelter will not only help adults and their families, but the people may bring their pets as well. BARC is here to set up some kennel space, have food for the animals and some care items for the pets. They will be here to manage the area so the pets will be able to relieve themselves! The pet area is set up away from the people s area.
