SUNBURY, Pa. Folks from the YMCA and Geisinger are teaming up to bring free food to people in Northumberland County.
Tracy Herman of Milton pulled up outside the Sunbury YMCA on Wednesday and waited for her box of food. Me and the gentleman I m with are struggling right now, so we re taking any help we can get. We both decided if it s here and we can use it, said Herman.
Herman is one of many people participating in the Sunbury YMCA s new food pantry distribution. It started last month in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Those interested can send a resume and cover letter to SSalem@cityofpoughkeepsie.com by May 27. In a release, Salem noted candidates will be notified by email if an interview is needed, and the council plans to make selections before the end of June.
McNamara has served on the council since he was appointed in March 2016. He assumed the seat that was occupied by his husband, Tracy Hermann. Hermann died suddenly of a heart attack on March 3 that year at the age of 52. McNamara, a Democrat, was then elected unopposed in a special election in November 2016, and was reelected by in 2017 and 2019 without a Republican challenger.

At about 2:00 am on Saturday, April 24, 2021 Beaufort County Deputies responded to the Beavers Dam Bar outside of Chocowinity to an unresponsive assault victim. Upon arrival they found a female bar patron performing CPR on 51-year-old Tracy Herman of Soper, OK. EMS Personnel also responded and continued life saving measures, but unfortunately Herman was pronounced dead at the scene.
After interviewing witnesses and collecting video from the bar s camera system, Beaufort County Sheriff s Office Investigators learned there had been an argument between bar patrons. During the argument, a man identified as 30-year-old Mark Clark Campbell III allegedly punched Herman in the head rendering him unconscious. Campbell then struck Herman several more times and fled the scene.

WASHINGTON, N.C. (AP) A North Carolina man was charged with an open count of murder in the death of an Oklahoma man at a bar last weekend, a sheriff s office said.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that deputies dispatched to the Beavers Dam Bar near Chocowinity around 2 a.m. on Saturday found Tracy Herman, 51, of Soper, Oklahoma, unresponsive. Although a woman at the bar and emergency personnel performed life-saving measures, Herman was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff s office said.
