It can take a big push to make a drastic change. And when it comes to peopleâs work lives, there has been perhaps no greater disruptor than the COVID-19 pandemic. Many got laid off, or were suddenly allowed to do their jobs from anywhere. Some got sick, while countless others worried about their safety.

MARY LOUISE KELLY, HOST: A college degree - it s a must-have for a lot of jobs in America. Now though, some employers say they are dropping degree requirements for certain jobs, this to diversify their staffs and to gain a market advantage. From member station GBH in Boston, Kirk Carapezza reports.
