Bikers return to Multan after 12-day tour to Khunjerab Pass

July 21, 2021 MULTAN: Some 12 bikers returned to the city after a tour to Khunjerab Pass-China border with the motto to explore the country on bikes. Bikers on Road, (bikers association) arranged a wonderful tour of 12 days with the Cooperation of Tourism Development Corporation Punjab (TDCP. Bikers Association chairman Yasir Khan told reporters on Monday that there were 12 bikers on 10 bikes adding that the tour started from Multan to Khunjerab with 10 bikes via Islamabad, Muzaffarabad (AJK), Naran, kaghan, Gilgit, Humz and reached Khunjerab Pass. They began their tour on July 3 and returned to Multan on July 14, he concluded.

Missing tourist facilities for Fort Munro resort being accomplished

Daily Times July 19, 2021 Five out of nine projects in Koh-i-Suleiman range have gone functional while work on the rest is underway. The missing tourist facilities at Fort Munro are being completed with the cost of Rs60 million to promote tourism in South Punjab. This was told by Ashar Iqbal Malik, Regional Manager Tourism Development Corporation Punjab (TDCP), on Sunday. He said that the region would attract more tourists in future just like northern areas of the country. The hotel at Fort Munro has been completely revamped with five Shelley type new rooms besides theatre, Bar-B-Cue section, public toilets, mosque and parking area, he said and added that old block consisting of five rooms since 1988 has also been renovated, he added. He said that the Punjab government had released funds for furnishing of the rooms including furniture, crockery, LCDs, booking counter for manager and computer section. TAD acquires 315-kanal land adjacent to Harappa

National April 29, 2021 LAHORE: Punjab Tourism and Archaeology Department (TAD) has successfully fulfilled international demand to secure Harappa, declared world heritage by the Unesco, by acquiring 315 kanals of land adjacent to remnants of one of world s premium developed civilisation at Harappa, located at district Sahiwal. The Unesco had demanded construction of walls and grill around Harappa. The TAD spent Rs190 million on purchasing nearby lands. Under well adopted policy devised by Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, the TAD is working hard for preservation of heritage sites like Harappa. According to the Adviser to CM on Tourism and Archaeology Asif Mehmood, Communication and Works (C&W) Department is finalising, finishing the auditorium building, which would be used for multiple purposes.
