SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. - Commuters in metro Atlanta dread Georgia 400 and Interstate 285 during rush hour. Sometimes, it doesn t have to be rush hour for tricky merges at high speeds to intimidate drivers.
The imminent completion of a new project may ease Fulton County drivers problems and cool their heads.
The Georgia Department of Transportation announced construction partners will open the Georgia Highway 400 southbound to Interstate 285 westbound exit ramp to traffic on March 20, officials said.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA As part of the Transform 285/400 project, the Georgia Department of Transportation construction partners will open the Ga. 400 southbound to I-285 westbound exit ramp to traffic.
The opening is expected to happen at noon on March 13, but the exact time/date is subject to change due to weather and other factors. The opening of this ramp will allow crews to continue critical construction activity in the I-285/Ga. 400 interchange.
Motorists accessing Ga. 400 southbound to I-285 westbound should merge into the farthest right travel lane of Ga. 400 southbound just before the Hammond Drive overpass which will continue onto the ramp. Traffic will then merge with I-285 westbound just before Glenridge Drive.

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. - Police in Sandy Springs said they have made an arrest in connection to the death of a triple shooting on Thursday morning that left two people dead and one person injured.
Jesus Alvarez de La Rosahas, 25, was arrested on Monday in Calhoun with the assistance of Gordon County Sheriff’s deputies, Georgia State Patrol trooper, and Calhoun police officers.

A third was rushed to an area hospital for treatment and is expected to recover. Police are withholding that victim’s name.

HOUSTON A 24-year-old woman who was arrested after a road rage shooting and chase has been linked to a Houston man who has been missing since Dec. 19, according to court records.
Kelly Slayton has been charged with murder in connection to the death of the missing 30-year-old man. The full identity of the victim is pending verification by medical examiners.

A woman who led Texas troopers on a chase to Comanche County was found to be driving a missing Houston man’s car and that man was then found dead in her apartment, according to court records.
Troopers encountered 24-year-old Kelly Slayton following a road rage clash Dec. 20 in Hamilton about 68 miles west of Waco but she fled and crashed the vehicle in the neighboring county. Houston investigators were flagged two days later when it became apparent that her vehicle belonged to missing man Joshua Pavey, whose friends said he vanished Dec. 19 after going to see a woman.
