LAWTON, Okla. (TNN) - An Electra man wanted for allegedly stealing $60,000 worth of saddles and tack was arrested Monday following a high-speed chase.
Kevin Bradley Cook was booked into the Comanche County Jail after a six-day search.
Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association Special Ranger Jay Foster said the investigation began in 2017 when the saddles and tack were stolen from a trailer in Wilbarger County.
Foster and Special Ranger Bo Fox were able to locate some of the stolen property in East Texas and they tracked it back to a pawn shop in Mesquite. Cook, who officers described as a career criminal, was identified as the suspect and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

A woman who led Texas troopers on a chase to Comanche County was found to be driving a missing Houston man’s car and that man was then found dead in her apartment, according to court records.
Troopers encountered 24-year-old Kelly Slayton following a road rage clash Dec. 20 in Hamilton about 68 miles west of Waco but she fled and crashed the vehicle in the neighboring county. Houston investigators were flagged two days later when it became apparent that her vehicle belonged to missing man Joshua Pavey, whose friends said he vanished Dec. 19 after going to see a woman.
According to a statement released Wednesday by Comanche County Sheriff Chris Pounds, an arrest has been made in a homicide investigation in Comanche County.
Dorothy Seidel (McCann), 23, was arrested for the murder of Larry John Hall, 37, both of Proctor. According to the news release, in the early morning hours of December 2, 2020, Seidel and Hall were at their residence on Apple Street in the Foley’s Addition near Lake Proctor. During the course of a domestic incident, Hall was shot and died prior to Sheriff’s Office and medical personnel’s arrival.
On December 16, Seidel was arrested without incident and is in custody at the Comanche County Jail with a recommended bond of $500,000.
