Attacks on No.58 infantry regiment in Waimaw destroy two village homes, kill domesticated animals
Published 4 August 2021 The third attack with heavy weapons on No.58 infantry regiment based in Madein Village, Waimaw, Kachin State, on the night of August 3 left two homes destroyed and many domesticated animals dead in the nearby village of Laban, said local villagers. The regiment was attacked three times on July 29, August 2 and August 3. The latest attack was the severest. “The fighting started at around 10 pm and stopped only this morning. We couldn’t count the number of falling shells. After 11 pm, military trucks and tanks arrived from Myitkyina. Two shells were dropped from a helicopter. But now, Washaung Road has been reopened.
