Why does the council not have a published set of rules on section 106?
Regarding your story about Sutton Bridge marina, the headline should have read: âWho at South Holland District Council agreed to spend £400,000 of Sutton Bridgeâs EDF S106 Funds on Lincolnshire County Councilâs original âmarina projectâ; which is not only nothing like the original plans, but cannot be accessed by anyone who lives in Sutton Bridge, unless they are lucky enough to own a boat, and got a mooring on the pontoons?â
It is clear from investigations, that SHDC does not have a proper, published set of rules against which, claims for S106 funds can be assessed.
EDF Renewables has submitted a planning application in the UK for a 50MWW solar photovoltaic project.
The application was filed with South Holland District Council for a project next to the Sutton Bridge power station in eastern England.
A number of ecological and other feasibility surveys have been carried out and EDF Renewables is satisfied the site is an “excellent location” for solar, with high levels of irradiation and a nearby grid connection.
The proposed 49.9MW solar farm, if given planning permission, would allow the project team to explore potential battery storage and electric vehicle (EV) charging possibilities at the site too, said EDF Renewables.

Some of South Holland s most run-down sites have been named in a list of places with the potential to become new housing.

South Holland s Brownfield Land Register (BLR), previously developed sites that can be turned into housing, is required by the Government as a way to increase the number of homes built across the country.

The first donations have arrived at the Spalding Guardian s office in town from readers who have responded generously to our annual Christmas Foodbank Appeal.
Volunteers at Agapecare Foodbank Spalding, based at The Lighthouse Church in Haverfield Road, will be able to pack food hampers with items bought by readers for families facing a bleak festive season due to redundancy, low income or illness.
Support for the town s foodbank has also been boosted by the efforts of four South Holland women who came together to form Families Helping Families and encourage people from across the area to help the less fortunate this Christmas.
