The Indian freedom movement has a unique place in history given the participation from people of all forms of life in it. Men and Women from all classes, castes and religion risked their lives for the struggle for freedom. However, often, in popular public memory, it is mostly men who are associated with fighting the British. The contribution of women towards the same has been marginalised over a period of time.
A TOWN centre road closure could continue for an extra eight months as Covid-19 cases remain high. On June 15, 2020, Eastleigh Borough Council took the decision to close Market Street and High Street, Eastleigh, to vehicles. This was said to be to allow for safe social distancing for shoppers, and the closures were originally planned to be in place until April 2021. Now though, councillors are considering whether they should keep the roads shut for an extra eight months until December 15. When the road closures were originally agreed last year, a group of business owners and residents came together to form the Eastleigh Town Centre Action Group (ETCAG).

DG YSS inaugurates Taekwondo Academy at Khel Gaon

JAMMU, Jan 12: The Department of Youth Services and Sports District Jammu open first ever Taekwondo Academy at Khel Gaon Nagota, here today.
The Academy was inaugurated by Director General, Youth Services & Sports JK UT, Saleem-Ur-Rehman.
Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman DG-YSS attended the function as chief guest, whereas Sukhdev Raj DYSSO Jammu was the guest of honour.
The DG YSS was accompanied by Joint Director YSS Kashmir Bashir Ahmad. During the inaugural function, he said that the Academy will run by the Department of Youth Services & Sports and most experienced international referee/coach shall provide coaching and training to the (All Age Group) Boys & Girls.
