Hubco, Pakistan’s largest independent power producer (IPP), has announced the appointment of Kamran Kamal as its new chief executive officer (CEO). Kamran has succeeded Khalid Mansoor who led the company for eight years, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.
Kamran has been a part of Hubco for the past 6 years as the CEO of Laraib Energy Limited, a hydel subsidiary of the company. Previously, he held the position of vice president of China Power Hub Generation Company (CPHGC), a joint venture between HUBCO & China Power International Holding (CPIH). Kamran is a competent leader with over 18 years of progressive responsibility and leadership experience in energy, infrastructure, commodities, business development and strategy. Previously, Kamran was commodities trade head, Engro EXIMP FZE.

QUETTA: The China Power Hub Generation Company (Pvt) Ltd, in collaboration with officials of the Balochistan Environmental Protection Agency, has volunteered to help combat hunger and malnutrition in the immediate vicinity of its plant by donating 200 ration bags to the deserving families in the villages of Hub.
The distribution of food items is in continuation of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives designed to help improve the lifestyle of the deserving in Lasbela. The ration bags were handed over to the elders of Allana Goth, Mangiyani Goth and Qadir Bakhsh Goth.

KARACHI: Hub Power Company (Hubco) has announced a net profit of Rs8.8 billion for the quarter ended March 31, 2021, up 20.54 percent from net profit of Rs7.38 billion recorded in the same period last year.
The earnings per share (EPS) for the quarter clocked in at Rs6.61 against EPS of Rs5.55 last year. The company did not announce any payout along with the corporate results.
“The increase in profit is mainly due to higher share of profit from an associate (China Power Hub Generation Company Limited, which started commercial operations on August 17, 2019), depreciation of rupee against USD and lower financing costs,” company noted.
