QUETTA: The China Power Hub Generation Company (Pvt) Ltd, in collaboration with officials of the Balochistan Environmental Protection Agency, has volunteered to help combat hunger and malnutrition in the immediate vicinity of its plant by donating 200 ration bags to the deserving families in the villages of Hub.
The distribution of food items is in continuation of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives designed to help improve the lifestyle of the deserving in Lasbela. The ration bags were handed over to the elders of Allana Goth, Mangiyani Goth and Qadir Bakhsh Goth.

Infant dies at Machhar Colony home

A nine-month-old girl was found dead in her home located in Machhar Colony, said an official of the Docks police station on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Maria Jamil.
Police said her family initially claimed that the infant had been found dead outside their house, but later on in the investigation, it was found that the girl had died at home.
The official said that the police are waiting for the report of the minor’s post-mortem examination to determine the actual cause of death while they continue their investigation.

Four killed as bus ploughs into crowd

Four people were killed when a speeding bus ploughed into a bunch of people near in Karachi’s Landhi area on Saturday
Th Sharafi Goth police said the bus, used for a private company’s pick and drop service, overturned after hitting a footpath, injuring two women and five men.
Ambulances from welfare organisations transported the inured to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where four people succumbed to their injuries during treatment, and doctors were trying to save the life of one of the injured, Shabnam.
A score of residents of the area staged a protest against the incident, causing a massive traffic jam. A heavy contingent of law enforcers reached the scene and calmed the situation down.
ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday decided to launch probe against former home minister of Sindh Sohail Anwar Siyal and Awais Muzaffar Tappi, a close aide to former president Asif Ali Zardari, in corruption cases.
The decision was made in a meeting of the bureau’s executive board presided over by NAB chairman retired Justice Javed Iqbal.
According to an official press release, the meeting approved conduct of five investigations against different suspects, including officers of Special Initiative Department, Sindh; Messrs Pak Oasis Industries Private Limited and others; Aslam Shah, chairman PMS, GIEDA; Farid Ahmed, former managing director, GIDA; management of Sindh fisheries department; Sohail Anwar Siyal; Ali Anwar; and management of the Balochistan Development Authority (BDA).
