Madden said Fairchild has distributed the most number of vaccines in the county and said it s important to distribute as many vaccines as possible as the county works its way down the tiers. He said Fairchild hopes to hear from Blue Shield soon and said they are doing their best “to try to get out in front of this.”  Although he s not completely clear about what the change will mean for Siskiyou County, he believes Blue Shield will begin distributing the vaccine to communities and people will sign up for vaccines with Blue Shield.   Madden said as soon as he has a clear understanding, Fairchild will announce what the new distribution plan will look like.

COVID in Siskiyou: Got a vaccine at Friday s clinic? Public Health will offer the second dose next month Siskiyou Daily News Nearly 1,150 people were able to get their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on Friday at Siskiyou County Public Health s mass clinic, held at the Siskiyou Golden Fairgrounds. Those people will need a second dose in approximately two weeks, and will be offered the vaccine at a second clinic, tentatively scheduled for Feb. 12, said Siskiyou Public Health spokesperson Angelica Cook. Those who received vaccines at the Jan. 22 clinic will be notified with more specifics as they become available. Public health officials recognized their staff and the many volunteers who helped with the well-attended event, including California Highway Patrol Yreka, the Yreka Police Department, Siskiyou County OES, the Siskiyou County Environmental Health Department, the Siskiyou County Probation Department, Mt. Shasta Ambulance and the Siskiyou County Fairgrounds staff.
