SISKIYOU, Calif. - Siskiyou County Public Health announced a vaccination clinic will take place on Feb. 12 for people to receive the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
The vaccination clinic will be for those who received the first dose on Jan. 22.
The clinic will be at the Siskiyou County Fairgrounds from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and an appointment is required.

Those who received their first dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine at Siskiyou County Public Health s mass clinic last month will be able to get their second dose on Friday, Feb. 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The Feb. 12 clinic, which will once again be held at the Siskiyou Golden Fairgrounds in Yreka, is only for those who got their first dose on Jan. 22 and this time, appointments are required.
Public health officials ask that prior to arriving at the fairgrounds, people download and complete required paperwork. They re also asked to bring an ID, their vaccination record card, a mask, and a pen.

Siskiyou County is seeing a decline in COVID-19 cases, but public health officials urge residents to continue protecting themselves by social distancing, washing hands and wearing masks until more vaccines can be administered.
Although a great emphasis is put on vaccinations, Siskiyou County moving down the state s Blueprint for a Safer Economy tier system depends on testing to concretely illustrate a decline in case rates.
As of Feb. 2, 6,527 COVID-19 vaccinations have been administered in Siskiyou County from state allotments, Public Health Director Shelly Davis told the Siskiyou County Supervisors at their meeting Tuesday. Of those, 4,666 have been administered, Davis added. We have both hospitals participating, including Fairchild and Dignity Health, (which) are administering them to patients who meet the criteria.

Nearly 1,150 people were able to get their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on Friday at Siskiyou County Public Health s mass clinic, held at the Siskiyou Golden Fairgrounds.
Those people will need a second dose in approximately two weeks, and will be offered the vaccine at a second clinic, tentatively scheduled for Feb. 12, said Siskiyou Public Health spokesperson Angelica Cook. Those who received vaccines at the Jan. 22 clinic will be notified with more specifics as they become available.
Public health officials recognized their staff and the many volunteers who helped with the well-attended event, including California Highway Patrol Yreka, the Yreka Police Department, Siskiyou County OES, the Siskiyou County Environmental Health Department, the Siskiyou County Probation Department, Mt. Shasta Ambulance and the Siskiyou County Fairgrounds staff.

YREKA, Calif. Last Friday, Siskiyou County held a mass coronavirus vaccination clinic, which officials have promised will be the first of several. But for many eligible people in the community, it ended before it began.
The clinic at the SIskiyou County Fairgrounds was set to start at 10 a.m., but Siskiyou County Public Health announced at 9:42 a.m. that it had already reached the maximum number of doses available. Officers from California Highway Patrol were tasked with notifying people lined up in cars outside of the clinic that it would be closing.
