(Fargo, ND) The Fargo Public Library’s 2021 summer reading challenge, Tails and Tales, starts Monday, June 7th.
This year’s theme celebrates all types of stories and storytelling and offers a summer filled with engaging books, activities and events for all ages. The free program runs through Aug. 21st and people of all ages can participate by reading, attending events and completing challenges.
Kids and families are invited to jump start their summer by attending the “Tails and Tales” themed kick-off event at the Red River Zoo Monday, June 7th, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The library, in partnership with the Red River Zoo, will provide free admission for kids ages 0-14 to the zoo during the event. Open to kids of all ages, this event will feature animal-themed storytimes, a zoo scavenger-hunt activity and crafts. The Red River Zoo is allowing free admissions to all mothers.

FARGO, N.D. There is a list of things mothers can do today, like eating or seeing a movie, but some mothers chose to visit the zoo.
“Mother’s Day is a popular day and so we just want to celebrate moms and grandmoms everywhere and have them come out to the zoo and enjoy some quality family time together,” The Red River Zoo Director of Business Operations, Jeremiah Gard said.
The Red River Zoo is allowing free admissions to all mothers. It has always been a tradition for families to come out to the zoo on mother’s day.
(Fargo, ND) In honor of National Zoo Day, The Red River Zoo took over Broadway Square in Downtown Fargo Thursday.
Executive Director of the Zoo, Sally Jacobson, called the event a great opportunity for everyone to learn a bit more about what the Zoo has to offer. It really gives people an opportunity to come out in a great spot and showcase some of our awesome animals and talk about career opportunities, said Jacobson, who braved the rain with staff to host the event.
Animals being showcased to the public included a porcupine, Arya the ferret and even a few snakes as well. The event also featured Jacobson, veterinarian Dr. Tom Colville and Zookeeper and Training Coordinator Emily Swenson.talking about their experiences at the Zoo.
